Job summary

Adbri is seeking a senior General Manager, Mawsons, to oversee concrete and aggregates operations across regional Victoria and NSW. You will drive strategic growth, operational excellence, and commercial performance while strengthening community relationships.

Lead diverse teams across Concrete, Transport, Quarry, and Technical functions; shape safety culture, cost discipline, and customer outcomes; manage pricing, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years' P&L leadership experience in capital-intensive manufacturing or similar sectors.
  • Proven ability to guide strategic, operational, safety, and commercial leadership across dispersed teams.
  • Experience leading business integrations, divestments, mergers, or acquisitions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and navigating ambiguity with confidence.
  • Leadership style grounded in accountability, communication, customer focus and inclusivity.
  • Desirable tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Business, Operations Management); MBA viewed favourably.

Job description

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional senior leader to step into the role of General Manager, Mawsons, overseeing Adbri's concrete and aggregates operations within the Mawsons business across regional Victoria and NSW. This is a pivotal position responsible for driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and commercial performance whilst building strong community relationships in regional markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our Mawsons business and strengthen our market position across infrastructure, commercial, and residential sectors in regional communities.

What You'll Lead

In this role, you will guide a broad operational footprint including Concrete Operations, Transport, Quarry Operations, and Technical teams. You will:

Champion Safety & Culture
  • Lead by example to embed a safety-first culture, empowering teams to identify hazards and continuously improve safety practices.
  • Foster a high-performing, engaged, and accountable workforce with strong behavioural standards.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in, support, and promote local communities in our operating regions through sponsorship's and community engagement.
Drive Commercial & Financial Performance
  • Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to support growth and customer outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to shape strategy and identify opportunities.
  • Lead pricing, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting to ensure profitability and capital discipline.
  • Use commercial insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous business improvement.
Deliver Operational Excellence
  • Champion cost efficiency, process optimisation, and technology adoption across plants, logistics, and quarry operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational performance.
  • Strengthen market presence and secure long-term customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Build strong community relationships to strengthen local presence.
What You Bring

We're looking for a seasoned leader with:

  • 15+ years' P&L leadership experience in capital-intensive manufacturing, heavy building materials, mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven capability in strategic, operational, safety, and commercial leadership across large, dispersed teams.
  • Experience leading or supporting business integrations, divestment's, mergers, or acquisitions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence.
  • A leadership style grounded in accountability, communication, customer focus, and inclusivity.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Business, Operations Management) are desirable, with postgraduate studies (MBA or equivalent) viewed favourably.
