Job summary

Australian Workforce is seeking a General Hand to join our busy operational team in NSW. Based in St Marys, the role involves hands-on duties to keep depots safe, clean and efficient in a fast-paced logistics environment.

You will support daily depot operations, ensuring facilities are well maintained and compliant with safety standards while contributing to a positive team culture and ongoing safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a general hand or maintenance role.
• Forklift licence desirable.
• Physically fit with ability to perform manual handling.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• White Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Container unpacking and general freight handling.
• Grounds maintenance and upkeep.
• Operating yard equipment including sweepers.
• Pressure cleaning and general site cleaning.
• Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Manual handling of freight and materials.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Following safety procedures and company policies at all times.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a reliable and physically fit General Hand to join a busy operations team based in St Marys. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining clean and safe environments, and is comfortable working in a fast‑paced logistics setting.

You will play a key role in supporting daily depot operations, ensuring facilities are well maintained, safe, and operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Container unpacking and general freight handling
• Grounds maintenance and upkeep
• Operating yard equipment including sweepers
• Pressure cleaning and general site cleaning
• Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Manual handling of freight and materials
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Following safety procedures and company policies at all times

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar general hand or maintenance role
• Forklift Licence (highly desirable)
• Experience within transport, logistics, or warehousing environments preferred
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Trades background advantageous but not essential
• Ability to read instructions and understand basic measurements
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
• White Card (preferred)
