Job summary

NorGas Group Pty Ltd on Norfolk Island is seeking a skilled gas professional to install, service and maintain LP gas systems for residential, commercial and industrial customers. You will work within a safety-first culture, with opportunities to grow and be part of a community-focused team.

We offer flexible arrangements (full-time, part-time, casual or subcontract) and relocation/accommodation support. Excellent above-award pay and ongoing training opportunities are available for the right

Qualifications

• Formal plumbing and gas fitting qualifications are required.
• A current gas fitting licence is mandatory.
• 2–5 years of hands-on LP gas experience is preferred.
• Solid technical knowledge and a safety-first mindset are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good customer communication.

Responsibilities

• Install gas appliances, cylinders and bulk tanks to Australian Standards.
• Service and maintain LP gas appliances and equipment.
• Fault locate and troubleshoot LP gas systems.
• Inspect and maintain NorGas’s gas infrastructure.
• Conduct safety and compliance testing and certification.
• Support safety audits and regulatory reporting.
• Perform general plumbing duties as required.
• Keep accurate records of all work.
• Provide on-call gas emergency support as needed.
• Build strong customer relationships in a tight-knit island community.

What you'll be doing

• Installing gas appliances, cylinders and bulk tanks to Australian Standards

• Servicing and maintaining LP gas appliances and equipment

• Fault-finding and troubleshooting LP gas systems

• Inspecting and maintaining NorGas’s own gas infrastructure

• Compliance testing and certification

• Supporting safety audits and regulatory reporting

• General plumbing duties as required

• Keeping accurate records of all work

• Providing on-call support for gas emergencies when needed

• Looking after customers in a community where your reputation travels fast, in a good way

What you bring

• Formal plumbing & gas fitting qualifications

• A current gas fitting licence

• 2-5 years' hands-on LP gas experience

• Solid technical knowledge and a safety-first mindset

• Confidence working on your own, plus the ability to work in a team

• Good communication skills with customers

• Attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving approach

• A current driver's licence

Bonus points for:

a refrigeration, mechanical, engineering, robotics or lawn care background. Mostly, though, we want a real appetite for island living.
