Service Stream is seeking an experienced Crew Member for field construction and maintenance on gas mains and services, based in Clayton, VIC. The role reports to the Operations & Maintenance manager and supports our utilities unit across projects requiring safe, efficient execution.

You will perform excavation, pipe laying, pressure testing, and site reinstatement, while maintaining a strong safety focus and complying with PPE requirements. Local on-site duties may include after-hours call-outs.

Qualifications

• Strong liaison and communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organise work to meet quality standards.
• Excellent understanding and care to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours duty rosters and emergency call-outs.

Responsabilités

• Excavation and trenching using hand tools or machinery.
• Pipe laying, jointing, wrapping, and installation of valves and fittings.
• Assisting with under-pressure drilling, tapping, and live gas connections.
• Backfilling, compaction, and site reinstatement.
• Operating and maintaining tools, plant, and equipment safely.
• Carrying out work according to plans, drawings, and job instructions.
• Supporting gas meter refits and relight of customer appliances as required.
• Completing time sheets, job reports, and basic field notes.
• Participating in toolbox talks and site inductions.
