Job summary

Shire of Broome is seeking a Gardener Operator to maintain parks, reserves and streetscapes, including drainage, weed control and pest management in Broome's tropical climate.

You will work in a small team, be self-motivated and reliable, with a current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one, and hold a C-class driver’s licence (MR desirable).

About the Position:

An excellent opportunity has arisen in our Parks and Gardens team to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Gardener Operator.

The Gardener Operator will be responsible for participating in the effective maintenance of Parks, Reserves and Streetscapes with the Shire of Broome. The day-to-day operations of work will include undertaking the maintenance and improvement of the parks, reserves, verges, public open space, drainage, streetscapes and associated assets within the Shire of Broome as well as providing weed control, pest management and community education services.

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and able to follow instructions while demonstrating initiative and sound judgement in the workplace. They will be physically fit and capable of undertaking manual labour in Broome's tropical climate, with the ability to work collaboratively and positively as part of a small team. A current National Police Clearance, or the willingness to obtain one, is required. Applicants must hold a current C-class driver's licence, while an MR driver's licence is desirable.
