Job summary

Tianyu Wool Pty Ltd is seeking reliable Maintenance Gardeners to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of heritage gardens and estates near Beaufort and Ballarat. This hands‑on role focuses on lawns, beds, and general grounds maintenance, with specialist tasks handled by external contractors.

The successful candidate will operate garden equipment, work outdoors, and maintain high presentation standards while following safety procedures. Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating lawn mowers, whipper snippers and other common garden equipment.
• Basic knowledge of garden and grounds maintenance.
• The ability to work independently and manage routine tasks.
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining grounds to a high standard.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work alongside property staff and external contractors.
• AQF3 Chemical Accreditation or willingness to obtain.
• Chainsaw experience or certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Regular mowing and maintenance of lawns and grassed areas.
• Whipper snipping, edging and general grounds maintenance.
• Weed control, including hand weeding and chemical spraying where appropriate.
• General garden clean-up and removal of leaves, branches, and garden waste.
• Maintaining pathways, garden beds and surrounding areas in a clean and tidy condition.
• Assisting with watering and basic irrigation operation.
• Safe operation and basic maintenance of mowing and gardening equipment.
• Monitoring the grounds and reporting maintenance issues or areas requiring specialist attention.
• Assisting contractors undertaking specialist horticultural, landscaping or maintenance works when required.
• Maintaining appropriate records for chemical use and other maintenance activities.
• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.

Job description

We are seeking a 2x reliable and practical Maintenance Gardeners to assist with the day-to-day upkeep of significant heritage gardens and estates near Beaufort and Ballarat.

This is a hands-on grounds maintenance role focused on keeping the gardens, lawns and surrounding areas well maintained, tidy and presentable. Specialist horticultural work, landscape design, major pruning, restoration, and garden development will be undertaken by external contractors.

About the Role

The role would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable operating garden and grounds maintenance equipment, and takes pride in maintaining a property to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Regular mowing and maintenance of lawns and grassed areas.
