Job summary

ACC Higgins is seeking two skilled Furniture Finishers/Polishers in Australia to maintain high-quality timber finishes. The role focuses on preparing surfaces, applying stains, and varnishing to perfection, ensuring flawless results on solid timber and MDF.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience as a Furniture/French Polisher, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with spray guns and polishing tools.

Qualifications

• A minimum 3 years' experience as a Furniture/French Polisher.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Proficiency with polishing tools and spray equipment.
• Ability to read and work from drawings.
• Excellent time management and reliability.
• Ability to achieve a flawless timber finish.
• Proficient with spray guns/spray booths.

Responsibilities

• Enhancing the natural beauty of the wood surface.
• Prepare wood surfaces for finishing.
• Mix and apply stains to achieve desired colour.
• Apply varnishes and lacquers to required finish.
• Repair inaccuracies and inspect finished surfaces.

Our client ACC Higgins is one of Australia's largest and best regarded coffin and casket manufacturers in Australia with branches and workshops in every state in the country.

Due to company growth, 2 exciting opportunities have become available for committed, proactive and qualified Furniture Finishers/Polishers to join their team.

The successful applicant will have:

• A minimum 3 years' experience as a Furniture/French Polisher
• High attention to detail
• Proficiency in the use of polishing tools
• Ability to work from drawings
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to achieve a flawless finish
• Proficient with Spray guns/spray booths

(Only single pack pre-cast finish paints used on solid timber and MDF)

Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

'Enhancing the natural beauty of the wood surface'

• Preparation of the wood surface
• Mix and apply stains
• Application of Varnishes and lacquer
• Repair inaccuracies
• Inspect finish surfaces

Work hours:

Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:20pm - Overtime available

Salary range:

AU$76,515 - $77,000

Relocation Packages:

This position is on a full-time basis, and we encourage international applicants to apply as full work sponsorship is on offer.

To be eligible for an Australian work permit you must have completed a successful Skill Assessment or willing to undertake Skill Assessment and English IELTS.
