Sunshine Coast Medical Centre in Nambour, Queensland, seeks a full-time VR General Practitioner to join a busy, non-corporate, AGPAL-accredited practice. The role replaces a retired GP and involves high-quality primary health care in a supportive team, with a busy patient load and strong community focus.

The practice features a 2-bed treatment room, two nurses, on-site Cyte pathology, and uses Pracsoft for medical records.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised medical degree required.
• Current registration with AHPRA or equivalent in Australia.
• Participation in quality improvement and CPD programs as per RACGP QA/CPD guidelines.
• CPR training within the past three years.
• Current Medical Indemnity Cover or eligibility.
• Current criminal record screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, primary health care services to the community.
• Manage patients of all ages with diverse health needs.
• Respond to medical problems with history taking, diagnosis and referral as appropriate.
• Manage long-term conditions in line with national guidelines.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Provide health promotion and preventive care advice.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as required.
• Coordinate with colleagues and allied health professionals.

The General Practitioner will provide high quality, primary health care services to the community in a busy non-corporate AGPAL ACCREDITED General Practice, replacing a retired GP. Sunshine Coast Medical Centre is seeking a full-time General Practitioner to join our dedicated team in Nambour, Queensland. As a General Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to our diverse patient population. Key responsibilities

Provide high quality, primary health care services to the community, in keeping with best practice standards

Provide appropriate care and services to patients of all age ranges and level of health care needs

Respond to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate

Provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways

Prescribe for patients as appropriate

Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to all patients attending the practice

Order diagnostic tests as required

Refer patients to other providers as appropriate

Record and maintain accurate, adequate and relevant patient records using established practice protocols and computerised medical records system

Actively communicate and coordinate with colleagues, specialist services and allied health professionals when sharing the care of a patient

About you

Relevant and Australian recognised medical degree

Current and appropriate registration with the APPRA.

Applied knowledge, skills and experience in general practice as appropriate for the position

Satisfactory participation in quality improvement and continuing professional development to at least the same standards as the Royal Australian College of General Practice's (RACGP) Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development (QA & CPD) Program

Training in CPR, undertaken within the past three years

Current Medical Indemnity Cover or be eligible for such

Current Criminal Record Screening

Current Australian Driver's License

Vocational Recognition through Fellowship with either the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), or a recognised equivalent (preferable, but not essential)
