Job summary

APPRISE CONSULTING PTY LTD in Rockhampton is seeking a Welder for a full-time, permanent position. You will read engineering drawings and perform fabrication and repairs on steel and aluminium components, applying the appropriate welding techniques as required.

You will weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, follow safety guidelines, operate grinders, drills, and cutting tools, and perform quality checks to ensure standards are met.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent is required.
• Proficient in welding, gouging, cutting or other duties.
• Post-trade experience in the same field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints.
• Experience with steel, aluminium and other alloys.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools (grinders, drills, cutting tools).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints and diagrams to perform tasks.
• Fabricate and repair metal structures and components per drawings and specs.
• Work with steel, aluminium and other alloys.
• Weld components in various positions including flat, vertical and overhead.
• Perform appropriate type of weld per project needs.
• Ensure safety and quality to prevent rework.
• Utilise hand and power tools (grinders, drills, cutting tools).
• Conduct quality checks on completed work and monitor equipment usage.
• Adhere to safety regulations and proper PPE.
