We are seeking an experienced, professional Executive Housekeeper to join a busy family household in a beautiful, substantial period residence in Hawthorn East, Melbourne. This is a permanent, full-time (Tuesday to Saturday), hands-on position suited to someone with a minimum of five years' professional housekeeping experience in high-end private residences, who understands the care and attention required when maintaining a luxury home with fine furnishings, antiques and delicate finishes. The role involves maintaining the home to consistently exceptional standards, managing all aspects of laundry and wardrobe care, assisting with household organisation and errands, and providing additional support during family gatherings and entertaining. The successful candidate will also be confident in the kitchen, comfortable following recipes and preparing fresh, healthy, homestyle meals when required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout a substantial private residence.
• Undertake daily housekeeping, including tidying, dusting, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining all living areas.
• Manage all aspects of household laundry, including washing, ironing, steaming, folding, linen care and wardrobe organisation.
• Change and launder bed linens and towels, ensuring bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully maintained.
• Undertake regular deep cleaning and maintain high standards throughout kitchens, bathrooms and other household areas.
• Demonstrate appropriate care when cleaning and maintaining antiques, fine furniture, delicate fabrics and period architectural finishes.
• Assist with household organisation, storage systems and maintaining an orderly, efficiently functioning home.
• Monitor household supplies, manage pantry stock rotation, prepare shopping lists and arrange replenishment.
• Prepare fresh, wholesome family meals and assist with food preparation and entertaining when required.
• Liaise with household service providers and tradespeople when necessary.

About you

• Minimum five years' professional housekeeping experience in high-end private residences or luxury private estates.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining large, beautifully appointed homes to exceptional standards.
• Excellent knowledge of cleaning methods and products appropriate for antiques, fine furnishings, natural stone, timber and delicate finishes.
• Highly competent in all aspects of laundry, ironing, garment care and household organisation.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and take full ownership of daily responsibilities.
• Discreet, trustworthy, well-presented and professional, with excellent communication skills.
• Proactive, energetic, physically capable and exceptionally detail-oriented.
• Confident preparing simple, healthy family meals and following recipes.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and full Australian working rights.
