Job summary

Robb’s Automotive Batteries & Tyres is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of passenger vehicles with a focus on European makes. The role requires fault finding, diagnostic work, and the ability to use electronic equipment in a modern Canberra workshop.

You will join a professional team in a well-equipped workshop with opportunities to develop advanced diagnostic skills and work on German and European vehicles.

Qualifications

• Relevant automotive mechanical qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or equivalent.
• Experience as Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing a variety of makes and models.
• Good knowledge of engines, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical systems.
• Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Current Australian driver licence or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out scheduled and logbook servicing.
• Perform engine, mechanical, braking, steering and suspension repairs.
• Test vehicle systems and ensure safety and quality.
• Maintain clean and safe workshop environment.
• Document repair and service records.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and workshop staff.
• Ensure compliance with workshop procedures.
