Job summary

Hays is partnering with a major Federal Government agency to build a talent pool of Full Stack Developers in Canberra. This is a long-term contract opportunity within Agile delivery teams delivering digital services to thousands of Australians.

As a Full Stack Developer, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, building modern web and mobile applications using React, React Native and API-driven development, with a focus on secure, accessible and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing applications with React and React Native.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience across front-end and back-end development.
• Exposure to cloud environments and DevOps practices.

These opportunities are expected to sit within Agile delivery teams responsible for enhancing digital services used by thousands of Australians. You'll work closely with product owners, designers, testers and other engineers to deliver secure, accessible and scalable solutions.

Your new role

As a Full Stack Developer, you'll work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with product owners, architects, designers and testing teams to deliver scalable, secure and accessible solutions. These opportunities will see you contributing to the development of modern web and mobile applications, with a strong focus on React, React Native and API-driven development.

What you'll need to succeed

• Commercial experience developing applications using React and React Native
• Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript development skills
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Experience working across both front-end and back-end development
• Exposure to cloud-based environments and modern DevOps practices
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable experience

• Federal Government experience
• Mobile application development experience
• Experience with automated testing practices
