Job summary

RL Education in Melbourne seeks a dedicated VCE/IB tutor for FT/PT/Casual work delivering one-on-one, small group, or classroom-based lessons in your subject area. Classes can be held in person or online, depending on student and tutor availability.

You will teach content aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, adapt pace to the learner, and prepare lesson plans and homework. Maintain progress records and communicate with parents or coordinators, upholding professionalism and punctuality.

Qualifications

• Outstanding knowledge in a VCE/IB subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science)
• Minimum Year 12 completed; higher education degrees preferred
• Ability to prepare lesson plans and learning materials
• Clear, effective communication with students and parents

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly classes delivering one-on-one, small group, or classroom-based lessons in your preferred subject area
• Teach subject content aligned with the Victorian Curriculum or relevant standards
• Adjust pace and strategies based on the student's level and learning style
• Prepare lesson plans and learning materials in advance
• Assign appropriate homework after each session to reinforce learning

Tutors will deliver one-on-one, small group, or classroom-based lessons in their preferred subject area on a weekly basis. Classes may be in person or online, depending on student and tutor availability.

Key responsibilities

Conduct weekly classes delivering one-on-one, small group, or classroom-based lessons in your preferred subject area

Teach subject content in a structured, thorough, and engaging manner, ensuring alignment with the Victorian Curriculum or relevant academic standards

Adjust pace and strategies based on the student's level and learning style

Prepare lesson plans and learning materials in advance of each session

Assign appropriate homework after each session to reinforce learning

Provide timely feedback and monitor student progress through regular homework review and class discussions

Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, engagement, and any concerns

Communicate with parents or academic coordinators when necessary to provide updates and support student growth

Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, punctuality, and communication in all interactions with students, parents, and the RL Education team

Participate in training sessions, mentoring programs, and performance reviews

About you

Outstanding knowledge in a VCE/IB subject e.g. English, Maths, Science

Minimum Year 12 completed, higher education degrees will take priority
