FSC Range is currently seeking a Structural Engineer with a background in Civil, Bridge or Maritime infrastructure design projects to join our growing team in Melbourne, Sydney or Launceston.

FSC Range provides engineering consulting services across the full project lifecycle. We specialise in the transport, tourism, recreation, international development, energy, and community infrastructure sectors.

Founded in Melbourne, we assist clients across the Asia–Pacific to deliver civil, structural, coastal, ports and maritime, and temporary works projects. We also provide asset advisory and project delivery services.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a bridge or maritime engineer with experience in the design of structures in either civil infrastructure or maritime projects. The job will offer the successful applicant a high variety of opportunities including international projects, major transport projects and smaller community projects for government authorities and contractors.

Your daily tasks will vary and may include
  • Managing project deliverables independently and interfacing with the client directly
  • Detailed analysis, design, and recommendations for infrastructure projects including bridges, wharves and elevated structures
  • The independent preparation of designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports
  • Condition assessments of various structures including bridges and wharfs
  • Review of design documentation prepared by others
  • Preparation of fee proposals
Requirements

You will be a motivated and initiative-taking engineer with the right combination of energy, a commitment to learning and ambition to design your own career path.

You will also have
  • A degree in Civil, Structural or Maritime Engineering
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience delivering civil infrastructure, bridge or maritime projects
  • Core skills in structural analysis with experience using structural analysis software such as SpaceGass
  • Strong people skills to liaise positively with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of innovative client solutions
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Preferred skills
  • Experience in using bridge standards such as AS5100 – Bridges (set)
  • Experience with maritime codes such as AS4997 and BS6349
  • A basic knowledge of material degradation in marine environments
