Job summary

TerraCom is seeking an experienced Mining Leading Hand for our Blair Athol Coal Mine in Queensland. The role involves leading a crew on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, rotating between day and night shifts, and stepping beyond operating duties into frontline leadership.

You will report to the Mining Supervisor, coordinating crew activities, maintaining safe practices, and helping translate the mine plan into field priorities while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous

Qualifications

• Demonstrated open cut mining experience, preferably coal.
• Proven frontline leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong safety focus and risk management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead the Mining Crew in daily shifts.
• Reinforce site safety standards and production priorities.
• Provide practical field direction and support to operators.
• Monitor progress, report issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Coach operators to maintain safe work practices and production discipline.
• Collaborate with Mining Supervisors and other site teams.
