Job summary

Xero is looking for a seasoned Front End Platform engineer to shape the technical direction across multiple teams. You will influence the stack, guide design and tooling, and champion modern front end practices while coaching engineers toward their next level.

You will build deep relationships across engineering, product and design, breaking down silos to achieve the best outcomes. The role offers hybrid or remote work across the East Coast of Australia.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in front end engineering, able to learn new languages/tools as needed.
• Proven interest in large-scale shared platforms and developer experience.
• Solid grounding in CI/CD, automated testing, and TDD; encourager of good habits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of Xero's front end platform.
• Guide a modern front end stack (React, TypeScript) across teams.
• Influence CI/CD and delivery pipeline improvements at a platform level.
• Shape long-term roadmap for front end performance, accessibility and DX.
• Support modernising legacy front end pages and components.
