Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced Front End Developer with strong ReactJS/Redux expertise to design and implement UI components and APIs for complex network provisioning platforms. You will work closely with Product Owners, DevOps, and offshore teams to deliver robust, scalable web applications.

FRONT END DEVELOPER- JAVA

Key Accountabilities

• Design, build, install, integrate and maintain software which enables customer end users to interact with complex network technologies and platforms for fixed network provisioning and operations
• Translate customer (internal, external or regulatory) needs and requirements, using technical principles into reusable API based micro-services, UI components and UI workflows
• Negotiate and agree on backend API requirements needed to implement required user experience
• Work with Product Owners and Technical Product Owners to develop business and technology roadmaps
• Utilise on-premises and cloud technologies to deploy and host applications
• Use existing code repositories and CICD pipelines to deploy into development and production environments
• Utilising Agile ceremonies and practices, lead and/or actively participate in planning, design and estimation sessions.
• Integrate solutions by executing on security and operational requirements
• Assess capability of third party and open source libraries and tools to meet business requirements and manage software supply chain delivery
• Assess capability of internal libraries, tools, APIs and systems to meet business requirements
• Develop platform-specific technology functionality for business requirements that leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies
• Participate in a DevOps and DevSecOps environment and team.
• A Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar discipline.
• Typically, a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience working in an Operational and/or Software Engineering role and have expertise with a variety of deployment, automation, configuration management, testing and optimisation tools.
• Strong experience in one (or more) of the following technologies:
• Node
• Angular
• React JS
• Exposure to network automation, Software Defined Networking and NFVi concepts
• Proven programming experience that conforms to good software engineering design principles and practices (including version management). This includes experience with API integration.
• Practical experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines. Enhancing and improving CI/CD capabilities to reduce cycle time while retaining quality
• Experience in delivering projects as part of an agile teamand exposure to DevOps teams, practices and tools
• Willingness to learn new technologies and keen to drive innovation
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
• Strong desire to learn and drive skills to expert level in the domain

Minimum 8 years of experience in modern web application development

• Advanced level proficiency in React, Redux, HTML 5.0, CSS3, CSS Pre Processors SASS/LESS, ES6+, Typescript, Foundation, Responsive Web Design, Component Web Design, page optimisation.
• Commercial, hands-on working on experience with BDD & TDD, specifically JEST & Cypress
• Creating configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Delivery environments.
• Experience with automated module bundlers such as Webpack/Parcel
• Highly Experience with automated build tool such as gulp, grunt
• Highly Experience with package managers such as npm, yarn
• Experience with source code management workflows across multiple teams with Git
• Ability to implement a fully automated CI/CD pipeline using Bamboo, from code checking to production deployment
• Experience working in fast paced agile delivery environment and manage work via JIRA or a similar tracking tool
• Ability to design and implement unit test cases, integration test cases and performance test cases for APIs and UI components
• Experience working collaboratively with other engineering teams on a product
• Experience creating node js APIs to support BFF front end features
• Practical experience with functional programming concepts will be advantageous.
• Experience in consuming Web Services REST/JSON
• Experience with XSS Prevention techniques

About the Opportunity

The UI Developer will be responsible for driving end to end delivery of the program, attend requirement discussions with business stakeholders to finalise the FSD’s/Interface documents etc.

• Work with Tech Lead/Business stakeholders for requirement gathering/reviews and signoff’s
• Liaise with the offshore team and SME’s during the project delivery phase
• Meeting with the development team to discuss user interface ideas and applications
• Support and collaborate with other internal/external consultants in consulting, workshops and delivery engagements

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in Leading, guiding and coaching a small team
• Expertise in design and development of UI applications.
• 9+ years of experience in UI design and development
• Expertise in ReactJS. Redux experience with JavaScript unit testing frameworks.
• Experience on creating Node JS API for front-end integration.
• Experience on creating API definition using Swagger. Experience on Node modules such as file systems, normalizer, etc. Strong foundation in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript and experience with a modern client-side single page app framework in React JS. Good working knowledge of GIT version control and JavaScript package managers.
• Translates graphic visual and interactive designs into the presentation layer for highly interactive web and mobile applications using responsive design and development techniques.
• Develops prototypes and performs hands-on coding to develop and integrate the application user interface
• Full lifecycle application design and development using Javascript – React.js – Node.js – Python
• Proactively engage in the remediation of software issues related to code quality, security, and/or pattern/frameworks.
