Job summary

Bulk Regional Express QLD, part of Bulk Group, is seeking a General Freight Sorter in Maryborough. You will sort and prepare freight for local delivery drivers each morning, starting around 5:00 AM, with 6–8 hour shifts and a chance to learn on the job.

No prior freight experience is required; training is provided and you will join a local depot team working Monday to Friday to get freight ready for the road.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight, warehouse or transport is welcome but not essential.
• Must be reliable and comfortable with early-morning starts.
• Physically able to perform manual handling and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Unload and sort incoming freight by delivery run and destination.
• Stage and organise freight for drivers.
• Assist with loading vehicles for local deliveries.
• Check freight labels for damaged, missing or misallocated items.
• Handle freight safely and with care.
• Keep depot and work areas clean and organised.
• Follow site safety procedures.
• Work with depot team to get freight sorted and drivers on the road on time.

General Freight Sorter – Early Starts | No Experience Required

Maryborough | Monday to Friday | Early Starts & Early Finishes

Bulk Regional Express QLD, part of Bulk Group, is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Freight Sorter to join our Maryborough depot team.

This is a hands‑on role working within our depot to sort and prepare incoming freight for our local delivery drivers each morning.

You’ll be part of the team making sure freight is sorted correctly, organised into the right delivery runs and ready to get out on the road on time.

Previous freight or transport experience is not essential. If you’re reliable, comfortable with physical work and willing to learn, we’ll provide the training you need.

What you’ll be doing

• Unloading and sorting incoming freight by delivery run and destination
• Staging and organising freight ready for our drivers
• Assisting with loading vehicles for local delivery runs
• Checking freight labels and identifying damaged, missing or incorrectly allocated freight
• Handling freight safely and with care
• Keeping the depot and work areas clean, tidy and organised
• Following site safety procedures at all times
• Working with the depot team to get freight sorted and drivers on the road on time

Hours

• Early morning starts – typically around 5:00 AM
• Monday to Friday
• Shifts are typically 6–8 hours, depending on daily freight volumes
• Early starts generally mean early finishes and your afternoon free

What we’re looking for

• Reliable, punctual and comfortable with early morning starts
• Physically fit and capable of regular manual handling, including lifting, moving and sorting freight throughout your shift
• A good work ethic and willingness to get in and help the team
• Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Good attention to detail when sorting and checking freight
• A strong focus on safety
• Previous freight, warehouse or transport experience is welcomed, but not essential
