Job summary

Austin Group is seeking an experienced Fractional Procurement Lead to establish and drive procurement capability across the Group on a 3-days-per-week basis.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead strategy, supplier negotiations, governance, and supplier relationships, delivering measurable value and efficiencies while shaping how procurement is approached as the business evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, supply chain, finance, law or related discipline.
• MCIPS or equivalent is well regarded.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or commercial leadership.
• Experience within retail, consumer goods, apparel or multi-site businesses is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Group-wide procurement strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Identify and deliver sustainable cost savings and value-creation opportunities across key spend categories.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, tender processes and supplier negotiations.
• Establish procurement policies, governance frameworks and best-practice processes.
• Manage supplier relationships and contract performance to maximise value and minimise risk.
• Review and optimise spend across categories including logistics, technology, packaging, marketing, professional services and retail operations.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve procurement planning and decision-making.
• Support sourcing and supply chain teams with commercial negotiation expertise.
• Introduce reporting, analytics and performance measures to improve procurement outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and technology to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
• Build procurement capability across the business and foster a strong commercial mindset.
