Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd is seeking a Founding Software Engineer in Sydney to transform loose product goals into customer-ready features the next day. You will build rapidly, ship often, and lead growth as the team expands. Expect to drive an AI-powered workflow with agents working in parallel as a core routine.

You’ll receive meaningful equity in a small, high-performing team, plus international travel with the founders, meals, and gym access. The pace and upside are both high.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering fundamentals developed in professional roles before AI could write most of your code.
• Track record of shipping quickly in startups, own product, or side projects that others used.
• Experience building with AI agents and a strong, ambitious project you can walk us through.

Responsibilities

• Convert loose product goals into finished features used by customers the next day.
• Build new features primarily, with occasional bug fixes and support tasks.
• Run AI coding agents in parallel as a standard part of your workflow.
• As the team grows, provide technical leadership to new engineers joining after you.

A Sydney AI company has built a product that went from launch to seven-figure quickly!

They want one kind of engineer, someone who learned the craft in a professional role before AI could write code, and has spent the last year shipping with agents as the way they work every day.

They expect you to be running several streams of work at once, moving quickly, and owning what gets shipped. Founder experience counts for a lot, even if what you built didn't work out, because of what it shows about your drive and product thinking.

A thin team means each person's contribution matters, and the equity reflects that.

They're a small but high-performing team, recently raising from investors with the next version of the product already in progress.

The role

• You'll take loose product goals and turn them into finished features that customers use the next day.
• Most of your week goes into building new things, with some bugs and support work mixed in.
• You decide how things get built, and you'll run AI coding agents in parallel as a normal part of your work, not as an experiment.
• As the team grows, you'll be expected to take on technical leadership of the engineers who join after you.
