Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT seeks a Carer Engagement and Support Consultant (Foster Carer Recruitment and Assessment) to recruit, assess and support foster carers across NSW. This part-time 28 hours per week role is based at a PSP site, with occasional statewide travel and opportunities to train and mentor carers within a warm, supportive team.

You’ll engage communities, collaborate with caseworkers, and help ensure vulnerable children find nurturing homes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supporting vulnerable people.
• Driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required.
• Group facilitation or training delivery skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, assess and onboard new carers
• Support and mentor existing carers, including through allegations and complaints
• Deliver foster carer training, reviews and development plans
• Collaborate with Caseworkers to support children and young people
• Represent Uniting in the community and raise awareness of child safety
• Participate in regular team and clinical supervision meetings
