Job summary

AnglicareSA is seeking a Placement Support Worker to join our Southern Foster Care team. You will support children, young people and Foster Carers within a multidisciplinary care framework and collaborate with Child Protection and Out of Home Care programs, the Department for Child Protection, and other stakeholders.

You will apply cultural humility and trauma-informed practice to create safe, healing, and culturally responsive environments where children can thrive, with a full-time, 12-month

Qualifications

  • Experience working with families, children and young people in a community services setting.
  • Understanding of the Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems and related legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver services across Adelaide’s southern metropolitan region as part of a multidisciplinary Placement Support team.
  • Hold a caseload and provide in-home support and guidance to children and their Foster Carers.
  • Use assessment and planning skills to coordinate strengths-based, trauma-informed supports for children and carers.
  • Embed cultural awareness and sensitivity in all aspects of work, especially for First Nations and CALD children and young people.
