Job summary

Brisbane Airport is seeking a dedicated forklift operator to support international cargo handling in a cold store environment. You will unload aircraft units, manually handle freight when required, remove cargo nets and shrink-wrap, and load airfreight onto trucks with hoists for safe movement.

Qualifications

• Forklift competency and freight handling experience are essential.
• Clean criminal record is required.
• Ability to pass ongoing drug and alcohol testing is required.
• Previous cold store experience is preferred, including perishables handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to unload aircraft units.

About the Role

As a cold store forklift operator at Brisbane Airport, you’ll be an essential part of the team responsible for handling international cargo and keeping operations running smoothly. Your day-to-day will include:

• Operating a forklift to unload aircraft units
• Manual handling of freight when required
• Removing cargo nets and shrink-wrap from pallets
• Loading airfreight onto trucks
• Operating hoists to safely manoeuvre aircraft units
• Working in a cold store
• Working with perishables & carcus's

Rosters & Pay

• Monday to Friday - 5am to 1pm
• Weekday rates: $33per hour, with applicable shift penalties
