Job summary

Cochrane's Transport in Gillman is seeking a motivated Forklift Operator to manage loading, unloading, and staging freight at our Gillman depot. This role covers inbound/outbound freight, reporting damaged goods, consolidating pallets for return, and completing daily pre-start checks for safety.

We value accuracy, teamwork and a commitment to safety, with above‑award wages and 13.5% superannuation. Start times around 5:00–6:00am with extra hours during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Valid Forklift License.
• Experience operating forklifts in a logistics or transport environment.
• Knowledge and practice of Chain of Responsibility obligations and safe manual handling.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration.
• Attention to detail with accuracy in handling freight.
• Good reading and comprehension skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to manage time priorities.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks, sort and stage consignments from receival through to dispatch.
• Manage inbound and outbound freight, report damaged goods, consolidate pallets for return.

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to efficiently manage the distribution of freight within our Gillman Depot. The position is responsible for loading, unloading trucks, sorting and staging consignments from receival through to dispatch.

Additionally, the Forklift Operator will manage inbound and outbound freight, report damaged goods, consolidate pallets for return and complete daily pre-start activities and vehicle checks to ensure safe and effective operations.
