The role emphasizes developing treatment plans, risk management, supervision of junior staff, and ongoing involvement in governance and professional development.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration with AHPRA or eligibility.
• Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent specialist qualification.
• Experience in psychiatry, ideally in forensic/complex settings.
• Strong assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.
• Understanding of governance, risk management and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and clinical management.
• Developing and reviewing comprehensive treatment and management plans.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting clinical decision-making and risk management.
• Contributing to multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical governance.
• Providing supervision, education and support to junior medical staff.
• Participating in service improvement, teaching and professional development activities.
