Job summary

Jeloj Pty Ltd T/A Pure Wellness, based in Southport, Queensland, is seeking a Food Technologist to lead product development and ensure quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will formulate and refine foods, conduct testing, and collaborate with production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of three years in food technology, product development, processing, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of food science, processing, product development, and QC practices.
• Ability to conduct tests, trials, and technical evaluations and interpret results accurately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Solid written and verbal communication for collaboration with production and management.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and refine food products to improve quality, performance and suitability for production.
• Provide technical guidance on preservation, processing, packaging, storage and handling methods.
• Establish and review quality control measures and food safety procedures.
• Investigate quality and processing issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Assess finished products for taste, flavour, colour, texture, nutrition and overall consistency.
• Review test data and research outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain technical documentation including specifications, test results, records and reports.
• Carry out laboratory and production trials to assess ingredients and processing methods.

What You'll Be Doing

• Formulating and refining food products to improve their quality, performance and suitability for production.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in food technology, food product development, food processing or a related role.
