Job summary

State Government of Victoria, Australia Collingwood College is seeking a Food/Art Technician to support the Food Tech and Visual Arts areas, preparing for practical classes and maintaining facilities. The role contributes to stock management and ensures learning spaces are safe, clean and well organised.

The technician works with teachers and staff to deliver practical learning programs, supports inventory management, and ensures compliance with food safety and OH&S standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to support teaching and learning programs through preparation, organisation and maintenance of specialist learning environments.
• Experience in resource management, including purchasing, stock control, inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to provide catering support for school events while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff, students and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise ingredients, equipment and materials for practical Food Tech classes.
• Assist teachers with classroom preparation and practical learning activities.
• Maintain Food Tech facilities in a clean, safe and organised condition.
• Undertake kitchen cleaning, laundry and housekeeping duties for the Food Tech program.
• Clean, inspect and store kitchen utensils, appliances and equipment; monitor condition and coordinate maintenance.
• Assist with stock management including food supplies, consumables and equipment; ensure compliance with food safety and OH&S requirements.
• Raise purchase orders, receive and distribute equipment and consumables; maintain inventory registers.
