Job summary

A leading company in complementary medicine and food products is seeking an Entry Level Applications Technician to support their Food Bioscience Team. This role involves conducting chemical and micro analysis on dairy and plant-based products. The ideal candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree and may have some experience in product development.   • Independently operate the pilot plant after training.
  • Perform microbiological and chemical analysis on finished products.

Job description

Our client is a global leader in complementary medicine and food products based in Macquarie Park. They are currently seeking an Entry Level Applications Technician to join their Food Bioscience Team.

Your primary responsibilities will involve providing pilot plant support and conducting analytical tasks, including chemical and micro analysis working on Fresh fermented dairy products, Cheese and Plant-based fermented products.

This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone who recently graduated or with limited experience who wants to boost their career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Making samples in the pilot plant according to the recipe provided
  • After training, independently operate the pilot plant
  • Perform basic microbiological and chemical analysis on finished products
  • Prototype creation, Phage analysis
  • Realize reports and presentations on the trials done
  • Support the team for all the pilot plant and lab activities
  • Organize and run the sensory test with the samples prepared
  • Manage ingredients inventory, ordering supplies, product shipping & receiving
  • Support the Application team during customer workshops and innovation days providing all the material required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in food technology, food engineering or related discipline. Dairy specialization is a plus
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in production environment
  • Experience in product development, and lab activities.
  • Experience in fermented dairy products and / or in cheese products
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical documents professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to describe findings and issues effectively.
  • Great teamwork capabilities
