Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Adelaide is seeking a part-time Riverside Breakfast team member to deliver a warm welcome and seamless service in a hotel breakfast setting.

You will take orders, prepare a range of beverages, and work with restaurant and kitchen teams to ensure a memorable guest experience. Barista skills and RSA/food safety certification are preferred; 24 hours per week minimum.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel environment preferred; breakfast service experience encouraged.
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (SA/Nationally Accredited) & Food Safety Certificate
• Barista skills and training are highly regarded
• Australian permanent resident or valid work visa with at least 6 months remaining; minimum commitment of 24 hours per week; student visas not eligible

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders and make recommendations as needed.
• Prepare and serve hot, cold, artisan and specialty beverages.
• Set up and pack down the venue/outlet as required.
• Stock up supplies, manage inventory and ensure equipment works.
• Coordinate with restaurant and kitchen teams for seamless service.
• Minimise waste and report unsafe equipment or low supplies to supervisor.
• Ad-hoc duties to keep service running smoothly.

Job description

We’re searching for a new part-timer to join our Riverside Breakfast team who can confidently deliver unforgettable experiences with a warm welcome, inspired recommendations, and seamless service. Ideally, you will have experience in a hotel environment, but anyone with experience in a breakfast service environment is encouraged to apply. This is a Part-Time role. Applicants must be able to commit to working at least 24 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours when required. Barista experience will be highly regarded.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

• Striving to make every meal truly memorable for our guests by serving up high standards with our signature flare

• Taking guest orders and making recommendations as needed

• Working closely with your restaurant colleagues to deliver a truly seamless food and beverage service

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of hot, cold, artisan and specialty beverages

• Set up and pack down the venue/outlet as required

• Set up your work station – stock up on all the supplies you’ll need, manage your inventory and make sure all your equipment works

• Working closely with the restaurant and kitchen teams to deliver a truly seamless food and beverage service

• Minimizing waste and keeping your supervisor or duty manager in the loop about any unsafe equipment, low supplies, or safety incidents

• Taking on ad-hoc duties to keep the service running smoothly

What we need from you:

• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (SA/Nationally Accredited) & Food Safety Certificate
• A passional for providing hospitality with a smile.
• Previous hotel experience in breakfast service is proffered but not required.
• Barista skills and training are highly regarded
• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg, which can also involve bending and kneeling
• Your strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories
• The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays, weekday availability is required
• Be an Australian permanent resident or hold a valid Australian work visa with at least 6 months remaining at the time of application. This role requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week, therefore applicants on Student Visas with restricted work rights are not eligible
