Job summary

HIGHETT FLOOR COVERINGS in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on warehouse assistant. This role involves preparing flooring jobs, cutting carpet, stock checks, deliveries, and assisting with sales opportunities.

You will work as part of a team, keep the warehouse tidy, operate a walkie forklift, and follow instructions with reliability and good communication. A current driver’s licence is required, and you’ll be encouraged to learn new skills in the floor covering industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare flooring jobs for installation and cut carpet using a commercial cutting machine.
• Check and organise stock.
• Assist with deliveries and labour on installation sites.
• Load/unload flooring materials and operate a walkie forklift.
• Keep the warehouse tidy and perform general warehouse duties.
• Assist customers with sales opportunities.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being active, working as part of a team and learning new skills in the floor covering industry.

Key responsibilities

Preparing flooring jobs ready for installation and cutting carpet using commercial cutting machine

Checking and organising stock

Assisting with deliveries

Some labouring work on installation sites

Loading and unloading flooring materials and using walkie fork lift

Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and tidy

General warehouse duties and assisting the team as required

Helping customers with sales opportunities
