Job summary

Koppen Construction in Far North Queensland is seeking an experienced Float Truck Driver to join our civil construction team. You will transport construction machinery between project sites and operate float trucks on remote and unsealed roads.

This role requires a current HC or MC licence, at least 2 years’ experience with Road Ranger gearboxes, a Construction White Card, and a strong commitment to safety. You should be prepared to travel away from home and pass pre-employment medical checks.

Responsibilities

• Transport civil construction machinery between project sites.
• Load, secure and unload plant and equipment safely.
• Operate float trucks, semi-trailers and related vehicles.
• Assist with material spreading and road maintenance activities.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and daily vehicle checks.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs as required.
• Diagnose and assist with tyre changes and breakdowns.
• Comply with NHVR, TMR and company safety requirements.

Koppen Construction is seeking an experienced Float Truck Driver to join our growing civil construction team in Far North Queensland.

This role will primarily involve transporting construction machinery between project sites throughout North Queensland, with opportunities to operate other fleet vehicles and assist the wider civil crew when required.

About the Role

As a Float Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in supporting our construction operations by ensuring machinery and equipment are transported safely and efficiently across our projects.

Working in the civil construction industry means you'll regularly travel on remote and unsealed roads, requiring strong hazard awareness, sound judgment, and a commitment to safe work practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Transport civil construction machinery between project sites
• Load, secure and unload plant and equipment safely
• Operate float trucks, semi-trailers, belt feeders and tipper trucks
• Assist with material spreading and road maintenance activities
• Conduct pre-start inspections and daily vehicle checks
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs as required
• Diagnose breakdowns and assist with tyre changes when necessary
• Comply with all NHVR, TMR and company safety requirements
• Maintain accurate records and vehicle documentation
