Job summary

The Tweed Valley Hospital, part of NSW Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the General Medical and GEM program. You will provide compassionate, patient-centred care to older adults in a busy ward and the GEM service, supporting recovery and safe discharges.

Qualifications

• Registered nurses are expected to deliver compassionate, person-centred care for older adults.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients’ families.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to build trust with patients.
• Motivation to learn, grow and contribute to quality care.
• Experience in aged care, rehabilitation or GEM programs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across a busy General Medical ward and GEM program.
• Support older adults to recover, regain independence and return home safely.
• Collaborate with geriatricians and allied health for comprehensive care.
• Participate in discharge planning and care coordination with the care team.
