Job summary

Dynamic Hydro Excavations in Molendinar, Queensland seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet of hydro excavation equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Reporting to senior management, you will drive efficiency, safety outcomes and profitability through proactive asset management, data reporting and coordinating maintenance, upgrades and downtimes to keep job scheduling on track.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fleet management experience.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and compliance.
• Experience with Work Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain fleet records and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance for fleet assets.
• Monitor fuel usage and performance metrics to cut costs.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join Dynamic Hydro Excavations in Molendinar, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in the operational success of our business. As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our fleet of hydro excavation equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will report directly to senior management and will have a direct impact on our operational efficiency, safety outcomes, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain comprehensive fleet records, including vehicle registrations, maintenance schedules, inspections, and compliance documentation
• Oversee the scheduling and coordination of preventative and corrective maintenance for all fleet vehicles and equipment
• Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle performance metrics, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
• Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety standards and comply with relevant legislation, including Work Health and Safety requirements
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of fleet assets to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns
• Manage relationships with external service providers, including mechanics, suppliers, and maintenance contractors
• Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures to optimise asset utilisation and extend vehicle lifespan
• Track and analyse fleet data to provide reports and recommendations to management on performance and cost management
• Oversee vehicle acquisitions, disposals, and upgrades in line with business requirements and budget constraints
• Coordinate with operational teams to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure equipment availability for job scheduling
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in fleet management

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience of 3+ years in fleet management or a similar supervisory role within the transport, logistics, or construction sectors
• Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle maintenance, mechanical systems, and fleet compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols within fleet operations
• Proficiency with fleet management software, telematics systems, and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Problem-solving capability and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
• A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
• Desirable: Experience with hydro excavation equipment or specialised plant machinery
• Desirable: Knowledge of budget management and cost control strategies
