Randwick City Council is seeking a Curator First Nations (Identified) to join the La Perouse Museum, guiding exhibitions, research and education programs that reflect Aboriginal culture and history.

The role focuses on caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander objects, developing engaging programs across the Museum and Headland, and collaborating with community stakeholders to advance First Nations cultural protocols.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be Aboriginal descent through parentage and accepted in the community.
• Strong cultural knowledge and demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Experience or equivalent competence gained through education, training and experience pertaining to the role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee care and representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander objects for exhibition and conservation.
• Develop engaging programs focusing on Aboriginal culture across the Museum and Headland.
• Assist the Museum team to deliver programs including exhibition content, research, collections and programming.
