Job summary

PHN Hunter New England and Central Coast in Erina NSW is seeking a First Nations Cultural Safety Project Officer (Identified) to support culturally safe practices across health services. The role is a 0.6 FTE part-time position with flexible location including Armidale, Erina, Newcastle or Tamworth, and a maximum-term contract to 30 June 2027.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and understanding of cultural safety in health settings.
• Experience in project management, including documentation, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation across providers and monitor progress against timelines.
• Collate stakeholder feedback and recommend broader tool deployment.
• Provide cultural safety guidance across commissioning and procurement activities.
• Develop training resources and tools to support culturally safe practices.
• Prepare updates, presentations and reports for stakeholders.
