Job summary

The Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia is seeking a Cancer Liaison Officer to support Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations through the Improving First Nations Cancer Program.

You will work with state and territory governments to influence policy, develop culturally safe resources, coordinate, co-design and deliver holistic cancer programs across the cancer journey, and foster collaboration across health sectors, reporting to the Public Health Manager.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health issues affecting Aboriginal communities in WA.
• Understanding of co-design and co-decision-making.
• Experience advocating for Aboriginal community-controlled health.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Responsibilities

• Support ACCHOs through the Improving First Nations Cancer Program.
• Influence policy with state/territory governments.
• Develop culturally safe resources and coordinate cancer programs.
