WesTrac Tomago in New South Wales is seeking a skilled Machinist to machine CAT components in a modern workshop. You will work in a team on complex rebuilds with no FIFO, enjoying an early finish on Fridays and a stable roster.

The role emphasizes precision, reading drawings, and safety, with on-site training and long-term career opportunities in mining equipment servicing.

Monday to Friday - 48-hour week | EARLY FINISH ON FRIDAYS!

Roster: 5 Days ON 2 Off X 2, then 5 Nights on 2 Off X 2

What you’ll do

This is not a production line role. You’ll be part of a skilled, tight-knit team working on complex rebuild and salvage machining, including:

• Manual & CNC machining of CAT components
• Working to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
• Repair and rebuild work on large-scale mining equipment

Every job is different – this is variety, problem-solving, and precision work.

About you

• Strong experience in manual and/or CNC machining
• Confident reading drawings and working to tolerances
• Safety-focused, reliable, and takes pride in quality workmanship

Highly regarded (but not essential):

• Experience with heavy industry or mining equipment
• Line boring or large component machining
