Job description

If technical accounting is your strength, you have built strong foundations in Big 4 audit, technical accounting or ASX financial reporting, and you are ready for a step up into a leadership role with exposure to the ELT, this could be a very smart next move.

Our client is Gold Coast-based and seeking to hire a Group Financial Reporting Manager to take ownership of financial reporting across a large, multi-site, complex ASX-listed organisation.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and leading a team of Senior and Financial Accountants, this role sits at the centre of the Group’s financial reporting function — owning statutory reporting, consolidations, technical accounting and Board reporting. But it is about much more than the numbers. You will have the opportunity to challenge existing processes, improve how reporting is delivered and build capability within your team, while gaining valuable exposure to senior finance leadership and broader business issues.

You will also lead and develop a team, setting the benchmark for technical standards while creating an environment of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

You will take the lead across:

• Half-year and full-year statutory financial statements;
• Group consolidations and monthly management reporting;
• Monthly Board reporting and key financial metrics;
• Technical accounting and preparation of position papers;
• External and internal audit relationships and Audit Committee support;
• Group impairment testing and associated technical papers;
• Supporting budgeting, cash flow, covenant and tax reporting; and
• Improving and automating financial reporting processes.

This role will suit a CA/CPA qualified accountant with serious technical capability and the confidence to operate in a sophisticated listed environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Big 4 audit experience or similarly strong technical training;
• Experience within an ASX-listed or large corporate environment;
• Strong Group consolidation and statutory reporting experience;
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and technical accounting;
• Leadership experience and the ability to develop high-performing accountants; and
• A genuine appetite for improvement, automation and change.

Hybrid working arrangements are available, and the role can be based on either the Gold Coast or in Brisbane.
