• Experience as Financial Controller, Dealership Accountant or senior Accountant within a franchised automotive dealership environment is preferred.
• Stable employment history and long-term commitment is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the dealership Administration Department.
• Day-to-day accounting, month-end and year-end reporting.
• Prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

If you’re an experienced dealership Financial Controller or senior automotive Accountant who likes the idea of swapping the city grind for a Queensland coastal lifestyle, this is an opportunity worth considering.

Our client is a long-established, high-volume, multi-franchise dealership forming part of a successful and growing privately owned automotive group.

With multiple locations, strong brands and further expansion planned, the business is positioning itself as one of the major automotive operators in the region.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the financial and administrative functions of the dealership.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the dealership Administration Department

• Preparation of management accounts and financial reports
• Cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Ensuring statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met
• Preparing reporting for financiers, banks and manufacturers
• Managing creditors, debtors and supplier relationships
• Developing, supporting and training the administration team
• Assisting external accountants with annual audits and preparation of annual accounts

About You

For this role, automotive dealership accounting experience is essential.

You will ideally already be working as a Financial Controller, Dealership Accountant or senior Accountant within a franchised automotive dealership environment.

You’ll also need:

• Strong dealership accounting knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to lead and develop an administration team
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with senior management
• A practical understanding of dealership financial reporting and compliance
• A stable employment history and genuine interest in making a long-term commitment
