Job summary

CFC Underwriting in Sydney is seeking a motivated Underwriter to support our Financial Lines portfolio and deliver high-quality service to brokers. You will manage renewals, assess new opportunities, and help grow a diverse portfolio in a dynamic market.

You will stay across industry developments, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines while actively engaging with brokers and industry networks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Financial Lines underwriter.
• Strong understanding of the Australian insurance market.
• A commitment to following, applying, and interpreting underwriting guidelines.
• Strong commercial acumen and a determination to maintain a profitable portfolio.
• Positive, professional, and proactive attitude.
• Strong sales orientation, with confidence in pursuing and closing new business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and service an existing Financial Lines portfolio, including renewals and mid-term adjustments.
• Assess and underwrite new business opportunities in line with authority and guidelines.
• Strengthen and maintain strong broker relationships through responsive and professional service.
• Conduct portfolio reviews to monitor performance, profitability, and trends.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, legislative requirements, and internal policies.
• Attend networking events, broker meetings, and industry functions as required.
