Job summary

Recruit Shop Pty Ltd in Western Australia is seeking a senior hands-on finance professional to own day-to-day financial control across multiple group companies. You will deliver accurate reporting, strengthen financial controls and provide clear commercial information to senior management.

Responsibilities include monthly management accounts, cash-flow forecasting, budgets, intercompany transactions, payroll, BAS/GST compliance, and ERP system stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Significant hands-on financial control within an Australian business.
  • Experience independently managing a broad finance function.
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting capabilities.
  • Extensive accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control experience.
  • Payroll and employee financial administration experience.
  • Strong cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, wholesale or industrial environments is highly regarded.
  • Accounting qualification such as CPA or CA is advantageous.

  • Managing cash-flow forecasting, working capital and upcoming financial commitments.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and actual-versus-budget reporting.
  • Managing accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, payment runs and creditor issues.
  • Processing or overseeing payroll, timesheets, superannuation, PAYG, leave and reconciliations.
  • Coordinating BAS, GST, payroll tax, ATO reporting and recurring statutory obligations.
  • Maintaining general ledger integrity, bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Supporting month-end, year-end, accruals, prepayments and fixed-asset requirements.
  • Coordinating insurance renewals, claims, reimbursements and associated administration.
  • Supporting employee onboarding, contracts and finance-related HR administration.
  • Maintaining ERP, payroll, banking and financial reporting systems and spreadsheets.

About The Company

Our client is an established Western Australian group comprising four businesses and more than 40 personnel across manufacturing, engineering and industrial markets.

They operate across specialist metal manufacturing and engineering, architectural metalwork and design, valve-maintenance products, and industrial valve sales. Together, the businesses serve local and international customers across a diverse environment involving manufacturing operations, capital equipment, suppliers and multiple operating entities.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across multiple Group companies, providing accurate financial reporting, strong financial control and clear commercial information to senior management.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant hands-on financial control or accounting experience within an Australian business
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing a broad finance function
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting capabilities
  • Extensive accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control experience
  • Demonstrated payroll and employee financial administration experience
  • Strong cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management capabilities
  • Sound knowledge of BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with external stakeholders

Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, wholesale or industrial environments will be highly regarded, along with multi-entity experience, ERP systems, lender and covenant reporting, equipment finance, insurance administration and experience working directly with business owners.

An accounting qualification, CPA or CA qualification would be advantageous; however, strong practical financial experience and demonstrated ownership of an SME finance function will also be highly valued.
