Job summary

Urban Utilities is seeking a Solution Architect - Infrastructure to design and assure infrastructure solutions across network, desktop and server domains. You will create robust, scalable architectural designs aligned with strategic goals, reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead.

The role focuses on financial data processes, budgeting support, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure compliant, efficient operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establish, document and maintain financial data capturing processes to support infrastructure reporting.

• Contribute to budgeting by providing analysis and reporting using spreadsheets and databases.

Role focus

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, the Solution Architect - Infrastructure is responsible for designing and assuring solutions for key technical domains such as network, desktop and server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration, security and other critical systems at Urban Utilities. This role involves creating and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure architectural designs that support the organisation's strategic and operational goals

Responsibilities

• Establish, document and maintain systems and processes to capture and report financial data as identified in relevant planning instruments and infrastructure agreements to assist with the financial impact of infrastructure in the City.


• Assist in the research, preparation, documentation and reporting of short and long term financial modelling.


• Prepare, analyse, and interpret financial performance and management reports and distribute to Council, executive management, and other stakeholders.


• Assist in the budget process by providing analysis, reports and assistance to internal clients through the operation of spreadsheets and database software, and the preparation of specific reports.


• Ensure transparency and efficiency through compliance with legislation, accounting standards, internal controls and other governance documents.


• Undertake investigation and analysis of variances to budget to ensure data integrity and identify appropriate solutions.


• Provide accurate and timely information and advice to customers, the Branch Manager, the Executive Leadership Team, and Council.


• Provide advice and general guidance to the Management Accountant.

Experience

• Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, within a financial environment .


• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate and translate technical information to stakeholders at all levels.


• Demonstrated application of specialist expertise and advice to stakeholders to support key business initiatives.


• Experience presenting technical costing and accounting concepts based on sound research and practical theory that assist the business in making appropriate financial decisions including assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.


• Demonstrated experience in the research, preparation, documentation and reporting of short and long term financial modelling.


• Establish, document and maintain systems and processes to capture and report financial data as identified in relevant planning instruments and infrastructure agreements to ensure financial compliance.


• Translate information into simple concepts to facilitate understanding and manage expectations; building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders; and work harmoniously in a team work environment.
