Pacific Life Re in Sydney is seeking a Financial Accountant, Financial Reporting to support the Australia Finance team with external reporting under Australian IFRS and LAGIC. The role covers month-end, quarter-end, tax and statutory statements, and collaboration across global finance teams.

Expect involvement in ERP upgrades and process improvements, with occasional out-of-hours with teams in Singapore, Toronto and London.

Qualifications

• Degree in business or accounting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic understanding of life insurance accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of annual statutory financial statements and regulatory returns.
• Handle month-end and quarter-end journal postings.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with accounting papers for new standards and transactions.
• Contribute to tax reporting and audit requests as needed.
• Support Australian-specific financial analyses and ad-hoc tasks.
• Assist in projects such as ERP implementation and process improvements.
