About The Role

We're on the lookout for a motivated and detail-driven Financial Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team of four. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is hands on, eager to learn and progress their career with a view to being a Financial Controller in the future! In this opportunity, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our general ledger and overseeing accounts payable functions.

This position offers exposure across the full spectrum of financial accounting, including:

• Managing month end preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, journals, general ledger management and reporting
• Supporting the delivery of month end reporting to the internal leadership team & head office in France
• Treasury management including credit card reconciliations
• Ongoing accounting support/back up to transactional finance (accounts payables and receivables)
• Support with business reporting internally and externally (weekly, monthly and ad hoc).
• Audit support including liaising and working with external auditors and reparation of annual financial statements
• Preparation of BAS and GST on monthly basis for lodgement
• Assist as a back-up to the Payroll Officer for bi-monthly payroll processing.
• Ad-hoc support to other Finance initiatives and activities.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have up to 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with the desire to progress their career. In addition, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
• Working toward or CA or CPA qualification
• Proven experience working in a similar role with solid experience in full-function AP/AR and exposure to EOM activities/reporting
• Willingness to step in and be hands on for transactional finance when back up is required
• Strong excel skills with the ability to organize and manipulate system generated data (Intermediate to advanced level required)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to deliver complex information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders
• Analysis, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
