Job summary

We are looking for an energetic and personable Finance Officer to join our Sydney team. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice’s finance function.

This role will own financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, project billing, payroll, bank reconciliations, month-end, BAS compliance, budgeting and cash-flow management, with collaboration across Directors and the wider team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in finance, accounting or a similar role.
• Experience managing payroll, preferably using Xero.
• Experience with BAS, month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Initiative and a proactive, can-do approach.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Personable and confident working with a range of stakeholders.
• On site role no remote work.

We are a collaborative, award-winning Architecture and Interior Design practice located in the historic Jones Bay Wharf building, overlooking Sydney Harbour. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice’s finance function.

The Role

This is a diverse role within a creative studio environment, working closely with the Directors and wider team. The successful candidate will take ownership of the practice’s financial operations, with responsibilities including:

• Accounts Payable & Receivable
