Job summary

Locmans Advisors is a Melbourne-based accounting and advisory firm seeking a part-time Finance Manager to lead financial performance, provide strategic insights, and strengthen controls. You will mentor the Finance Team and contribute to growth while balancing work-life through a 9‑day fortnight and 2+ days in-office.

Responsibilities include monthly accounts, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and oversight of billing, payroll, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Business and CA/CPA qualification (or near completion).
• 3+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
• Strong technical expertise in compliance and advisory services.
• Leadership mindset with ability to mentor and elevate team members.
• Strategic thinker with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Monitor P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow with reconciliations.

• Analyze profitability by client, team, and service line.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

Prepare and review monthly management accounts and provide clear reporting on performance, trends, risks and opportunities

Monitor the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, maintain controls and ensure key reconciliations are completed and reviewed

Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash-flow projections and scenario modelling

Oversee billing and WIP, including aged WIP, recoverability, write-offs, pricing, productivity and utilisation

Maintain oversight of debtors, payment arrangements, debt recovery escalation and short and medium-term cash requirements

Oversee bookkeeping and delegated finance operations, including accounts payable, payment runs, reconciliations, disbursements, coding and approval controls

Oversee payroll, employment costs and finance compliance activities, coordinating with People & Culture and relevant specialists

Analyse profitability by client, team, Director and service line, identify margin opportunities and support sound pricing and investment decisions

Partner with Projects and operational leaders on budgets, cost-benefit analysis, ROI, financial risk and post-implementation review

Lead the Finance team through clear accountability, documented procedures, work review, coaching, quarterly check-ins and capability development

Our business runs on EOS, so as a leader you will maintain the Finance Scorecard, Rocks and Issues and prepare meaningful financial analysis for EOS weekly meetings and quarterly and annual planning

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor of Business and CA/CPA qualification (or near completion).

3+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
