Job summary

NSW EPA seeks a Finance Lead to provide financial leadership, advice and assurance across the agency, guiding reporting, budgeting and decision-making for emissions reporting and Net Zero progress.

The role sits in a high-performing team delivering strategic financial advisory services, budgeting and capital reporting, and driving risk and savings initiatives to strengthen financial performance.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualifications with appropriate industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and the preparation of financial statements.
• Experience in Climate change financial disclosures/report and emissions reporting.
• Experience in business and finance reporting and risk management.
• Experience in grant administration, financial modelling and procurement practises.
• Technical accounting expertise and the ability to apply and evaluate facts and circumstances to accounting authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership, advice and assurance to support financial reporting, management and decision-making across the EPA.
• Guide compilation and reporting on emissions reporting and strategies to achieve Net Zero for EPA.

The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Lead to join the NSW EPA. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership, advice and assurance to support the effective financial reporting, financial management and business decision-making across the EPA. The role applies financial, governance and risk expertise to key agency priorities and guides the compilation and reporting on emissions reporting and strategically lead EPA to achieving Net Zero.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• CA or CPA qualifications with appropriate industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and accounting and the preparation of financial statements.
• Experience in Climate change financial disclosures/report and emissions reporting.
• Experience in business and finance reporting and risk management
• Experience in grant administration, financial modelling and procurement practises
• Technical accounting expertise and the ability to apply and evaluate facts and circumstances to accounting authority.

About the team

The Finance Lead role sits within the Policy, Programs and Finance Division, part of a high-performing team that provides strategic business and financial advisory services across the EPA. The team leads internal budgeting and forecasting, labour analytics, capital reporting and planning, divisional management reporting, and business case development, and plays a key role in identifying and supporting delivery of risk and savings initiatives to strengthen financial performance and decision-making across the organisation.
