Job summary

Ambition Group, a leading international consumer brand in Sydney, seeks an experienced Finance Director to join its leadership team. You will provide financial leadership across planning, reporting, controls and transformation, partnering with the CFO and executive team.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, FP&A and finance transformation initiatives, manage a high-performing team across multi-market operations, and influence strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with strong leadership experience.

Job description

A leading international consumer brand is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join its Sydney leadership team.

Operating across multiple markets, channels and product categories, the business has built a strong global presence and continues to invest in growth, operational excellence and customer experience. This is a high-profile leadership role offering significant exposure to the executive team and the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the business.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will provide financial leadership across commercial performance, planning and analysis, reporting, controls, business partnering and finance transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team to support strategic planning and business decision-making.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
• Deliver commercial insights and analysis to drive sales, profitability and business performance.
• Support key growth initiatives, capital investment decisions and operational improvement programmes.
• Lead financial reporting, management reporting and governance activities.
• Drive improvements across forecasting, planning, reporting and finance processes.
• Partner with leaders across retail operations, digital, marketing, merchandising, supply chain and other business functions.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Support systems, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
• Provide clear financial leadership within a fast-paced and evolving commercial environment.

About You

You are a commercially minded finance leader who combines strong technical capability with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive business outcomes.

We are interested in speaking with candidates who bring:

• CA or CPA qualifications.
• Experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, Commercial Finance Director or a similar senior finance leadership role.
• A background within retail, consumer products, fashion, lifestyle, e-commerce or multi-site businesses.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and FP&A experience.
• A track record of providing strategic and commercial support to executive leadership teams.
• Experience driving profitability, margin improvement and performance initiatives.
• Exposure to inventory-led businesses and complex operating environments.
• Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement or systems implementation projects.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
