Job summary

BDO in Sydney is seeking a Finance Business Partner to drive financial performance through insightful analysis, robust planning, and strategic guidance. This role partners with business leaders to influence decisions and shape financial strategy.

You will develop models, manage forecasts, and deliver actionable insights while collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CA, CPA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
• At least five years' experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar business partnering role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Power Query.
• Experience with Power BI, or a genuine interest in developing reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Professional services experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, analysis, and financial processes.

• Work closely with Finance leadership to strengthen and evolve the Finance Business Partnering function.

About the Role

Join our Finance team as a Finance Business Partner and play a key role in driving financial performance across a dynamic and growing professional services organisation. This is an opportunity to move beyond the numbers and become a trusted advisor, partnering with business leaders to provide insightful analysis, meaningful reporting, and strategic financial guidance.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll help shape business decisions through robust financial planning, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and data-driven insights. You'll identify opportunities for improvement, enhance reporting frameworks, and contribute to the ongoing development of our business partnering capability.

In this role, you will:

You'll bring a combination of technical expertise, business partnering experience, and strong stakeholder management skills, allowing you to confidently engage with leaders across all levels of the organisation.

To be successful, you'll have:
