• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
• 4+ years post CA/CPA experience in similar roles within large, complex organisations.
• Proven ability to build rapport and influence senior stakeholders with trust and credibility.
• Experience in financial modelling including scenario analysis and actionable insights.
• Strong commercial acumen with applying accounting principles.
• Advanced technical skills in financial modelling and MS Office.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Macquarie University Health finance team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial performance and future success of Macquarie University Hospital and Health Clinics (MQ Health).

As a Finance Business Partner, you will work as a trusted advisor, partnering closely with senior stakeholders to provide critical financial insights and drive business decision-making. This is an opportunity to combine your financial expertise with your leadership and strategic capabilities to make a meaningful impact across a unique healthcare operation.

The Finance Business Partner works at the intersection of finance and strategy, translating complex data into actionable intelligence that drives business outcomes. This is a high impact role where you will partner directly with the Hospital Leadership and senior Health Finance and Commercial Managers in supporting desired strategic outcomes.

What will you do

About You: (Selection Criteria)

You have experience as a Finance Business Partner managing multiple stakeholders ideally within a large and complex healthcare (or similar) environment. With business partnering expertise, sound knowledge of commercial finance and the external finance landscape, you can apply this knowledge to support and influence stakeholders across all levels to ensure delivery. In addition, you will have the following:

• Professional credentials - CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Substantial experience - At least 4 years post CA/CPA experience in similar roles within large, complex organisations.
• Business partnering excellence - Proven ability to build rapport and influence senior stakeholders with trust and credibility.
• Financial Modelling - including scenario analysis and presenting actionable insights to support strategy and decision making.
• Commercial acumen - Sharp business insight combined with experience applying strong accounting principles.
• Advanced technical skills - Expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).

Experience as a Finance Business Partner in the hospital, healthcare or similar sector is highly advantageous.

MQ Health has also recently made a step change in profitability, lifting from a historical break‑even baseline to a sustained outlook for $15M+ in Operating Cash (EBITDA) each year.
